Libya Protests: Dozens Killed As Anti-Gaddafi Protests Continue-Watch Full News
Dozens of people have been arrested in Libya over the past few days, the official news agency JANA reported. They are accused of belonging to a "foreign network" and seeking to destabilize the country and the people's national unity.
Those arrested included Tunisian, Egyptian, Sudanese, Turkish, Palestinian and Syrian citizens.
HRW said that telephone interviews with hospital staffers and witnesses led to the estimates. It added in a statement: "The Libyan authorities should immediately end attacks on peaceful protesters and protect them from assault by pro-government armed groups."
Human rights groups had estimated 20 deaths in the city on Thursday and 35 during Friday's protests, with most of the victims suffering gunshot wounds to the head or chest.
for other countries, it could just be that it doesn't affect them. they may have more pressing problems within their own borders, which doesn't give them the luxury of philosophizing on current world affairs.
Sunday's violence took place after residents took to the streets in their thousands to bury scores of dead killed in the previous 24 hours. The United States said it was "gravely concerned" by what it called credible reports hundreds of people had been injured or killed.
Seven protesters were killed in the demonstrations on Thursday at Benghazi,' a local medical official who requested anonymity said, without giving further details.
Emboldened by successful revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, thousands of Libyans have been calling for the ouster of Gaddafi, who has been in power for 41 years.

Egypt Protests Continue Overnight As Mubarak Supporters Attack ; Tahrir Square Gunfire
CNN has released video of the attack on Anderson Cooper and his crew in Cairo by supporters of President Hosni Mubarak. The video is extremely shaky, but Cooper and his crew are clearly under siege, and Cooper can be heard saying he's been hit, yelling "calm down" and talking to his camerawoman.
The Army had vowed it would not act against the people seeking an end to 30-years of dictatorship by Mubarak, but witnesses said soldiers stood by and allowed pro-Mubarak forces into Tahir Square, where they attacked the activists.
The unrest has left about 300 people dead across the country over more than a week, according to UN estimates. Cairo's Tahrir Square has been the main focus of the protests. There are reports early on Thursday that supporters of President Mubarak have been firing on people in the square from the October Bridge, with unknown numbers wounded. The US State Department has urged all Americans in Egypt who wish to leave to go to airports "immediately", adding that delay was "not advisable". "Additional US government flights after Thursday are unlikely," the State Department added. Continue reading the main story.

Deadly blast in Airport of MOSCOW 31 People Killed
A explosion ripped through the arrivals hall at Moscow's busiest airport on Monday, killing 31 people and wounding about 130, Health Ministry officials said.
Russian news agency Interfax reported on its website that the explosion took place near the luggage check-in section.
The cause of the blast had not yet been determined; however, both Reuters and Agence France-Presse news agencies were reporting it was the result of a suicide bombing.
Security at Moscow's two other major airports, Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo, has been heightened, and city police have been put on alert over further possible terror attacks in the capital, according to Russian broadcaster RT.
In December 2009, Chechen rebels claimed responsibility for blowing up a high-speed train between Moscow and St. Petersburg, an attack that killed 26 people and injured scores.

Trapped Chile Miners Get More Than 1,000 Rescue
Rescue operations to bring 33 trapped miners to the surface are officially underway in Chile.
The miners have been trapped underground for more than two months. Efforts to surface them will take place on an individual basis using a specially built cageAnd you thought your job was a grind. The Chilean miners being resurrected from their rocky tomb are glimpsing the sun again today thanks to an amazing mix of faith and fortitude. Watching them (above) drop to their knees to thank their luck makes you ashamed to complain today. Is it just me or is this video better than anything TV has to offer?
Sepulveda appeared well aware of his budding options. His performance exiting from the shaft appeared to confirm what many Chileans thought when they saw his engaging performances in videos sent up from below - that he could have a future as a TV personality.
But he tried to quash the idea as he spoke to viewers of Chile's state television channel while sitting with his wife and children shortly after his rescue.
"The only thing I'll ask of you is that you don't treat me as an artist or a journalist, but as a miner," he said. "I was born a miner and I'll die a miner."
