Blackpool v Aston Villa premiership 2011 | Results

Paul Rachubka looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after damaging his knee yesterday in a suspected recurrence of the injury that kept him out for the first half of the season.

Blackpool (from): Kingson, Southern, Eardley, Cathcart, Evatt, Adam, Phillips, Vaughan, Varney, Taylor-Fletcher, Campbell, Sylvestre, Grandin, Euell, Beattie, Reid, Puncheon, Ormerod, Edwards, Baptiste, Harewood, Carney.

Villa (from): Friedel, Marshall, Walker, Collins, Dunne, Cuellar, Clark, Albrighton, Bannan, Petrov, Bradley, Makoun, Reo-Coker, Downing, Young, Agbonlahor, Delfouneso, Bent, Heskey.

The latest setback for the keeper, who only recently returned to fitness, leaves just Richard Kingson fit and Holloway requesting an emergency loan.

Young midfielder Marc Albrighton will be looking to force his way back in to his manager's plans after being relegated to the bench following the arrival of Jean Makoun and return of Stiliyan Petrov.

Everton 5 : 3 Blackpool Full Match Highlights | Match Summary

Louis Saha grabbed four goals as Everton broke Blackpool's spirited resistance in a remarkable game.
What a game. Reward for the thousands who braved the unceasing rain and reward for Everton's refusal to become another name in the tale of Blackpool's travels this season. David Moyes's side matched and bettered the barnstorming approach we've come to expect from Ian Holloway's team

It was a stunning game as both teams kept scoring and it was everton who took the league first Blackpool equailised soon, and they did the same three times after everton took the league but eventualy home side came triumph and put game beyond visitors.

And there was still time for French striker Saha to triple his league tally for the season when he ran half the length of the pitch and coolly finished past Rachubka.

Blackpool vs West Brom Full Match Highlights

West Brom will be looking to maintain their excellent start to the new season by collecting three more points when they visit Blackpool on Monday.

The Baggies continued their brilliant start by securing another victory last weekend against Fulham to hold on to their place inside the top six of the league table. West Brom had gone behind to an own goal by Scott Carson but bounced back through Youssouf Mulumbu before Marc-Antoine Fortune grabbed the winner five minutes before the half time whistle.

West Brom’s excellent start to the season has seen fans and media speculate that the side will be challenging for a European spot come the end of the season though manager Roberto Di Matteo was quick to play down the good start and said that his first aim was to make sure that his side will not be relegated this season.

Blackpool too have overachieved in their own way with Ian Holloway’s side sitting 15th in the league table with 10 points from their first nine games. The Blackpool manager will be pleased with his side’s performances so far this season and will be optimistic of maintaining the form for the remainder of the season.

Blackpool v Manchester City Highlight Full video

On Sunday, Blackpool entertain Manchester City in a Premiership fixture that is live on SKY.

There are three bet offers that you might like to take advantage of for the game. Please note that these third party website offers are subject to change and The Forgotten Imp canot be held responsible if this happens.

Manchester City travel to Blackpool for their first league for over ten years and the differences between the two clubs could not be greater. Alex Hendrikson previews this intriguing fixture.

Today two clubs will meet at Bloomfield Road, whose difference in approach both on and off the field could not be more extreme. For Manchester City, months of throwing obscene amounts of money at whatever flavour of the month, big name mercenary, who will take a wage rise not to play in the Champions League for a season or two, has not reaped the results success starved fans might have hoped. By contrast, attempting to live within a modest sustainable budget has brought hitherto unprecedented success to Blackpool, culminating in that amazing victory at Anfield.

he competition formed as the FA Premier League on 20 February 1992 following the decision of clubs in the Football League First Division to break away from The Football League, which was originally founded in 1888, and take advantage of a lucrative television rights deal. The Premier League has since become the world's most watched association football league. It is the world's most lucrative football league in terms of revenue, with combined club revenues of €2.326 billion in 2008–09. It is ranked first in the UEFA coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the last five years, ahead of Spain's La Liga and Italy's Serie A.

Carlos Tevez will continue as a lone striker and will be keen to add to his impressive goals tally this season.

Blackpool are without long-term absentees Paul Rachubka, Alex Baptiste and Bully Clarke, although Ian Holloway has no fresh injury concerns.
