Arsenal face an Aston Villa side who currently sit 13th in the table. They have been going through an injury crisis recently, with Carlos Cuellar, Emile Heskey, Nigel Reo-Coker, Marc Albrighton, Fabian Delph, Stilian Petrov and Steve Sidwell all expected to miss the fixture against Arsenal.

A cracking match developed when Arsenal responded by scoring a third in the 56th minute, Rosicky fed a perfectly weighted pass through to Marouane Chamakh and the Moroccan beat Friedel to the ball and toe-poked home.

The Gunners suffered their first home defeat to arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur in more than 17 years and missed a great chance of climbing to the top of the league table. Goals from Samir Nasri and Marouane Chamakh looked to have killed off the match as Arsenal raced to a two goal lead before half time but Spurs fought back through Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart before Younes Kaboul grabbed the winner five minutes before the final whistle.
