The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards took place live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles last night, Feb. 13, 2011 and broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The award for Best Musical Show album was revealed during the pre-ceremony live stream here and the winner is...the AMERICAN IDIOT Original Cast Recording!
Grammy Awards 2011 has come and gone and while Lady Gaga being a winner was no surprise, Esperanza Spalding and Arcade Fire were. Spalding beat out Justin Bieber for the best new artist Grammy and Arcade Fire took home the highly coveted Album of the Year award. Two major disappointments as Justin Bieber was certain he would win and I was almost 100% certain Eminem would walk away with album of the year; oh well.
Actress Eva Longoria introduced Canadian pop star Justin Bieber and five time Grammy Award winner Usher that included a film clip from when the two first met in Atlanta in 2007. Beiber’s performance featured drums and acrobats, He was joined on stage by Jaden Smith as a proud mom and dad (Jada and Will Smith) looked on.
The singer revealed that Train would be heading back to its hometown of San Francisco to celebrate for about a day before jetting off to Dubai for a festival show. They'll be touring most of 2011.
Arcade Fire also had a big night by winning the big "Album of the Year" award beating out Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, Katy Perry and Eminem.
