CongressWoman Gabrielle Giffords Shot Today At A Public Event

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot today in the head outside a grocery store by 12 people with at least 6 fatalities.

Gabrielle represents the state’s 8th Congressional District & She is in “very critical” condition, but is expected to survive.

18 others were also shot, including a federal judge and a nine-year old girl, both of whom died. Four others were also killed.

The gunman, identified as 22 year old Jared Lee Loughner (white male) yelled at Giffords and then began shooting at her. Giffords is in critical condition undergoing surgery. The shooter is in custody and the motive is unknown.
