The Baggies continued their brilliant start by securing another victory last weekend against Fulham to hold on to their place inside the top six of the league table. West Brom had gone behind to an own goal by Scott Carson but bounced back through Youssouf Mulumbu before Marc-Antoine Fortune grabbed the winner five minutes before the half time whistle.
West Brom’s excellent start to the season has seen fans and media speculate that the side will be challenging for a European spot come the end of the season though manager Roberto Di Matteo was quick to play down the good start and said that his first aim was to make sure that his side will not be relegated this season.
Blackpool too have overachieved in their own way with Ian Holloway’s side sitting 15th in the league table with 10 points from their first nine games. The Blackpool manager will be pleased with his side’s performances so far this season and will be optimistic of maintaining the form for the remainder of the season.
