Watch live - runners take on Chicago Marathon

The Chicago Marathon route runs through 29 neighborhoods through the city, starting at Grant Park and ending there as well. The route poses a challenge for Ernst van Dyk, the South African running in the marathon on Sunday.

Less than two hours into the Chicago Marathon, the fastest runners have just passed mile 18.

Starting and finishing in Grant Park, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon course travels to the North, West and South Sides of the city through 29 diverse and historic neighborhoods.
